BOOM SHAKALAKA! Our Dog’s New Favourite Game

If you’ve ever owned a dog with a serious love for fetch, you know the struggle:

the wagging tail, the excited eyes, and the “throw it again!” energy that never, ever ends.

Our dog is no exception—she could chase a ball from sunrise to sunset.

Our arms? Not so much.

We started joking about how we needed something with more… oomph than our tired shoulders.

That joke quickly snowballed into a wild idea: What if we built a launcher?

Now, before you imagine us tinkering like cartoon inventors surrounded by springs and smoke clouds—don’t worry.

We explored the basic physics behind propulsion. Inspired loosely by the mechanics of old-school “potato cannons,” we played with concepts like pressure build-up, expansion, and impulse force—purely as a learning project.

And the result?…

Let’s just say: BOOM SHAKALAKA.

When the pressure released, the ball shot forward with incredible speed—easily fast enough to send our dog sprinting across the field like an Olympic athlete. It was a hilarious mix of surprise, excitement, and happy tail-wagging chaos.
